Wow! A very cool piece!

After last week I felt I needed to replenish the shop with some fabulous finds. I have unearthed a few and here is one that I love. How fantastic this would be as a sole piece of art. It's an impressive printer's map of Upper Arlington (Ohio) from 1944. Lots more to take photos of tomorrow!

Some changes, finds, a give-away & more!

First, a change, I share with you the sad news that Janet is no longer working or selling her finds in my store. She has wanted to scale back for a little while now so that she could spend more time with her wonderful family. We will all miss her sweet personality and multitudes of well wishes are sent her way from me and no doubt all of you!!

Between Capital Style magazine readers, The Beacon readers and all my regulars the store has just been a buzz with amazing energy this week. Kristy Eckert from Capital Style magazine visited to check out items for her Daily Crave feature. She chose the wonderful leather and flower rings that arrived recently. Check out her post here You can purchase them on-line here...only $15!!

The latest Romantic Homes magazine has arrived at the shop and it is fantastic! There are two spreads about Debbie Dusenberry's home and Kansas City shop Curious Sofa. So glad she shared both with RH so that we can visit!
Lastly, I'm coming up on my 100th blog post (this is #98) so to celebrate I decided to have a giveaway! I'm working on the details and will get those out to you ASAP so stay tuned! It promises to be a wonderful prize!!

Independence-Tini (please enjoy responsibly)

1 bottle watermelon schnapps
1 industrial prep table to create your tinis with "urban-ness"
2 cups cranberry juice
1 vintage retro martini shaker to "shake things up a bit"
4 thinly sliced jalepenos, can you say fireworks?
a big, beautiful glass serving pitcher
8 sliced lemons
1 1/2 bottles tequila (again, please enjoy responsibly)
1 cup Blue Curacao
2 cups simple syrup
watermelon wedge for garnish
1 bag of ice
one tree filled with hanging candle lanterns
1 farm table (for a dash or "farmhouse-ness) filled with close friends

Light the candle lanterns to get the atmosphere going.
Fill your big, beautiful pitcher with ice, top with schnapps and cranberry juice.
Fill vintage highball glasses halfway with the schnapps mixture.
Muddle jalepeno pepper, lemon slices, tequila, Blue Curacao and simple syrup in your vintage retro martini shaker.
Slowly strain mixture from your shaker into the glass over the red layer. Garnish with watermelon wedge.
Serve your adoring guests under the twinkling lights (then sneak off and raid their purses and jackets for their car keys (for you are the Key Master my friend)! name that movie
