Urban Farmhouse Thornville Location is Closing

Dear treasured friends,

It is with both a heavy and happy heart that I make this announcement. Urban Farmhouse has enabled me to meet so many wonderful people and make so many friends and that has made this decision so much harder but the time has come for me to close the store. When I started urban farmhouse, it was just a brick and mortar store in Thornville, Ohio. Over the past 7+ years we have moved so far beyond that to shipping items all the way to Alaska and being invited to participate in wonderful shows like the Vintage Marketplace, Country Living, and the Rural Society.
I feel so blessed to have had all of these experiences and they have led me to the place I am right now. That place is with two grown boys (one recently out of the Navy and one beginning his freshman year at Transylvania University in Lexington Kentucky) and a delightful 15 year old daughter whom I love spending time with in addition to my best friend and husband, (a.k.a. HSD(hot shop dude)). We all have "seasons" in our lives and this is one I am so very excited to dive into head first.

While the brick and mortar store will close, rest assured that urban farmhouse will continue to thrive and grow through our online presence & at shows. I am in the process of completely re-designing my website and also have full schedule of shows for the fall.

I cannot tell you how much I value all of your friendships and look forward to continuing to share funky vintage pieces both my website and blog.

Above all else from this post though what I want you to know is that my business is not closing. urban farmhouse will continue online at myurbanfarmhouse.com as well as an ever growing show calendar.

On Wednesday, August 15th, I will open the doors to the public at 10am with the entire contents of the shop being sold at 25% off and, based on inventory, the discounts will increase to 75% off over the following weeks with the final day being Saturday, September 8.

- ALL SALES FINAL.
-ALL GIFT CERTIFICATES WILL BE VOIDED AFTER SEPTEMBER 8 and cannot be used online.
-ALL LARGE ITEMS MUST BE REMOVED BY SEPTEMBER 8
-ALL CUSTOM ORDERS THAT HAVE BEEN PLACED WILL BE HONORED AND DELIVERED AS SCHEDULED
(I am not going out of business, just changing direction.)

Many of you have come to know Lisa Marton and are faithful shoppers of her space in my store as well as her tent at the Country Living Magazine Fair in Columbus with me (together, our two tents make the L shape) and at the Rural Society Sale in Mt. Vernon. She always manages to find some of the most amazing and one of a kind pieces. You will be pleased to know you can continue to follow her on Facebook at Collected Over Time where she posts pictures of recent acquisitions and where you can find them, etc.

Thank you for the many, many wonderful years! Here's to seeing a fork in the road...and picking it up!

Lisa

Hi Lisa,
I am excited for your new journey...I just did the same thing kid of. I sold all of my booth stuff and 90% of my furniture to solely focus on my wholesale business that is thriving so wonderfully....it is hard to juggle so many fires with out getting burned sometimes. I realized that sometimes we all have to step back and really take time to look around and see the beauty in other things and realize the richness it can bring to us and give a sense of peace as well. I am in such a wonderful place by just letting go and letting God show me this real and true beauty in other areas of my life. I wish you much success and growth in this new journey...enjoy your weekend!!

Smiles,
Sheila

All businesses start in one direction and end up in a different place. That's just the rhythm of it! You have adjusted to what feels right for you and that will continue to show in your new adventures. I just regret never having been to the brick and mortar shop as I only heard fabulous things about it! But this won't stop me from checking you out online or at different venues. Blessings to you.... !!!
