Some fantastic treasures have made their way in to the shop this week. I'm still unloading my truck/garage/dining room plus unpacking boxes of new finds. Here's a sampling...some of which can be purchased via my website. If there is something here you want and it's not listed on the website, email me at CEO-mom@columbus.rr.com and we'll get you squared away. Enjoy!

She sells seashells...and hot glues them too.
I've had this bust of a woman in the shop for a while and frankly grew quite tired of her lack of personality. So with boxes of shells in abundance at my home I decided she was going to become a siren of the sea, or at least Thornville. Above is the before and below are the afters. What projects are you working on?

Summer time and the living is easy....
"Design is coming to grips with one's real lifestyle, one's real place in the world. Rooms should not be put together for show but to nourish one's well- being."
-Albert Hadley
Recently I have been inspired to restyle my home with the same "attitude" we adapt while vacationing. A place to get away, relax and leave daily stresses behind. Why reserve "escaping" for weekends and vacations when you can have it every day? Breezy white smocked curtains, soft colors of washed aqua and faded blue, washable vintage fabrics, sisal rugs, beaded board walls, screen doors, distressed finishes, straw hats, fluted ironstone compotes overflowing with our collections of seaglass and shells. Nothing earth shattering in the way of design...just our passions infused into each room.

Saxophonist Paul Taylor, WJZA, & Thornville/Buckeye Lake!
Tomorrow evening smooth Jazz 103.5 will present the first of a three part summer concert series in Snug Harbor on Buckeye Lake. Headlining the event is saxophonist Paul Taylor, whose smooth, romantic vibe has made him one of the genre’s most dynamic performers. He has numerous tracks that have landed on Billboard’s Top 10 Contemporary Jazz recordings list. The grand opening event kicks off a summer full of relaxation and fun at Buckeye Lake, including more concerts in July and August presented by Smooth Jazz 103.5 WJZA. For those of you lucky enough to have grabbed your tickets early (they're sold out now) drive out a little early and stop in urban farmhouse...you're sure to find something that "jazzes" you! We're open till 5!

A grain of inspiration. . .
During a recent (and rare) afternoon of visiting blogs I discovered Kathleen over at Musings From A French Cottage. How many of us long to fill our cupboards and linen closets with beautiful, old French grain sacks? What IS it about this simple textile that causes a lot of hearts to pitter patter when they see it?But they are one of those splurges that drains the wallet quite a bit...hmm, big, beautiful grain sack pillow or a weeks worth of groceries? Well, Kathleen has devised a way to create faux ones! I knew after reading her "how to" post that I just had to share her creation with you. With her permission, here are Kathleen's step by step photos...be sure to visit her blog for detailed instructions. Thanks Kathleen!

My House Blend underwent a ReMix...
I am so excited about this tiny little change at Urban Farmhouse! I recently had to go on the hunt for a new fragrance oil for my house blend potpourri as my original scent has been discontinued. The disappointment of my "loss" has wafted into the past thanks to the intoxicating aroma of my new find! And I'm not the only one falling head over heels into the urn full of this exotic blend. Last week shopper after shopper was seduced by my hand selected organics that I have steeped in a redolence of sun drenched tropical fruits entwined with fresh picked, lush jungle frondescence. You simply must treat yourself or a friend to bag. Coming soon...bottled refresher oil too!!
